It is basically a sikh temple with historical importance attached to it. Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib is located in chandni chowk area of old delhi. The present structure of the temple was built in 1930 and it has been standing still since then. Sis means Head, Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji was compelled to embrace Islam, he refused, and therefore he was beheaded.
Whole day kirtan is performed and people from different religion and caste participate in it. Initially I didn’t planned to go there, I was heading towards old delhi market to buy some souvenirs, I entered into this majestic temple after looking from outside.
Listening to the kirtan was just amazing. After listening to the kirtan for 1 hour, I went to have langar, which is free food given in the Gurudwara. I bought a kada which is a bangle like wearable item and considered sacred in Sikhism. There were many food and shopping stores near the gurudwara. I spent around 2 hours there and every moment was worth it. We take our tourist for a visit to Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib also and let them experience the Sikhism Religion.
