On our way coming back to Delhi from Taj Mahal we visited Mathura. We were mesmerized by the beauty of the Taj, but we decided to explore further. Mathura is few kilometers away from Agra and I was along with my family, so moreover it was more enjoyable. In between we made one stop to freshen ourselves and then again we continued with our journey. We entered the Mathura city at around 6 p.m in the evening. The city was full of lights with the holy feeling coming from the every corner. Our first destination was the Dwarkadhish temple, the road to this temple is very congested. But once you are inside, it has a sprawling area with good architecture. The market around the temple is very dense and if you take a rikshaw to the temple, then also the speed would be same as if you are walking. So its better to walk by foot. We faced problem in finding the parking space for our car, but finally in the end we managed one and we quickly parked it and left for the temple. Its a very big temple and at special occassions, decorated in specific manner. Must visit in sawan month when different ghata are being decorated in the temple. The darshan is open for few minutes and god shows its glimpse during that duration. We stayed there for around 30 minutes and at 6:30 we left for Krishna Janma Bhoomi Mandir. This place is supposed to be the birth place of Lord Krishna and so revered by most of Hindus. Sometimes there is long queue, but it is worth it because if you are religious then this place would fulfill all your spiritual needs. While in Mathura, do not forget to taste Mathura’s famous pedhe. Finally we left for Delhi and we were having the wonderful memories of our trip. We reached Delhi at around 11 p.m and then went ahead with our further plans.
